Want my own website for affiliate stuff.

Hey all,
I want to make my own poker affiliate/directory guide. I want my own website, the thing is I have no idea how to create a site. Is web design simple enough to buy some books and just study and do it myslef, or does it require schooling and I would be better off to hire someone?

You could use http://phpnuke.org/ and never have to learn HTML.
