Butchered 10-20 hand VB or CC

10-20 Tunica Horseshoe 9 handed early am a couple of weeks ago and a drunk maniac is killing the game. Finally I pick up a hand.

Fold, UTG+1 (lag pre flop lp post) raises and Hero MP2 3 bets with AK [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], MP3 (lp) calls and the Button (super lag drunk game crusher) 4 bets. Blinds fold and the rest call.

Flop 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG+1 checks I bet MP2 calls button raises. All call. Turn 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] checked to the button and he bets. We all call. My thinking is all my draws are good here maybe this clown has AA or KK but more often than not he’s got an under pair to my overs that bigger than the flop.

River K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG+1 checks I Value Bet or Check Call……..

Thanks
Best of Luck

Put as many bets as you possibly can in on the flop and turn, you have an insane amount of equity 4-handed.

is the super lag drunk game crusher a TRUE maniac who would 4-bet on the button with 97o and continue betting and raising with his gutshot or is he simply 4-betting with that kind of hand and then playing somewhat reasonably postflop? (I think there is a big strategic difference in the kind of maniac we're dealing with)

If the first statement is true, i would pop the river every chance I get because your hand is no doubt better than the maniac's and more than likely better than everyone else straining to call down on this guy with less than spectacular hands.

If the second scenario is the case, I wouldn't be able to resist getting one bet or raise in on the river, but would be wary of going to 4 bets since even maniacs pick up a hand every now and then.

3-bet the flop.

Oops I thought the K was on the turn. If he was the last aggressor on the flop, check/call the turn. If he is truly a maniac, check-raise the river.

I know I should have reraised the flop but I put the button on a free-card raise Maybe Qx [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I had seen him do it a time or two with a wide mix of over cards and other gut shot draws etc. All the more reason I should have gone for the check raise on the river. If the spade had feel I would have.

On the river I bet MP3 calls (pocket Jacks) and the button raises UTG+1 calls. The button is a maniac but he's playing good enough post flop that I can't reraise. I start thinking I may be dead to AA so I go for the over call from MP2 and get it.

Button shows 62 off. I say nice hand and barf in my coffee cup. I saved money but I played it bad on every street.

Thanks

Reraise the flop. Bet/raise the turn. I read this too quickly to know if you could raise the turn. But there's no excuse for not betting it.
