Playing NL with a cap and short buyins
 

At my local Arizona Casino, they offer "Arizona Style" NL, i.e. 10/20 blinds with a $300 buyin and max $150 bet/raise limit. The bet limits are restricted by their compact with the state.

So the question I have is, how would you adjust strategy in a game like this? I'm thinking I should be (even) more aggressive about attacking the blinds, but I'm thinking that people will be more aggressive about defending as well. It seems implied odds will be less as well, since the cap can save people from being forced in, but I'm not sure how that changes my strategy.

What a crazy game. You should be raising with KTs-KQ, A9s-AK, 22-AA, all SC's (56 and up), suited-gappers (6-8,10-7 and up. You have to be very aggressive. This is really such an odd game that I suggest avoiding it altogether unless you can get no poker action at all around where you live.

i'd find someone who plays the 20-200 spread limit at bay 101 and pick their brain.

Didn't know about that spread limit game, interesting. Has anyone here tried it, is the game soft?

I've asked in B&M before about the actual game (and only got one response, that it's tight), but here I'm thinking more about the strategy of how to play it. I'm hoping some of the pros in this forum can explain how they would adjust their play to these circumstances.

Thanks for the good advice, but I'm thinking of playing it instead of my usual 6/12. I've been playing a good deal of NL online lately, and I think it's a better structure for punishing poor players. Don't you think this structure is still better than limit?

this game will play gigantic compared to 6/12. probably bigger than a 20/40.

I think it was J.A. Sucker that was playing the 20-200 on a regular basis. Don't hold me to it though.
