Poker Stars Double Shootout Hand - Proper Isolation?
 

We've played less than 10 hands and UTG + 1 has been in every one of them so far. This is the first pot I've entered. Do you like the all-in isolation play here? If not, how would you play it pre-flop?

I'd fold preflop, the raise looks too much like a bigger pair, regardless of what UTG+1 has

I wouldn't be getting involved in this one either after CO's raise.

He raised to 180 in level 1 and you re-raised? Yikes. Muck.

I was thinking the same thing as the previous posters until I realized that the raise to 180 was an all-in by CO.

I'd have to guess that CO has, at least, 2 overs and probably a higher PP. I'd think that if UTG+1 had you beat here, he would have tried to isolate with CO instead of cold calling.

I don't think it's a terrible play, but I think you'd triple CO up here more often than not by driving UTG+1 out, and you'd be in very bad shape if UTG+1 woke up with a hand.

Apologies, I didn't realise that either, stupid me.

Maybe not a bad play after seeing the situation again, I might just call aswell to see a flop.

No brainer. He absolutly made the right play. CO was going all in with ANY pair or ANY ace. UTG1 was calling with the same and worse. Smart play

I found this hand to be pretty interesting and am hoping some more will weigh in. I see there were some differing points of view before I posted the results. I still believe the pre flop all in was the correct play based on all factors but would love to hear some differing points of view with reasons if any exist. Would also like those who believe my line was correct to confirm. Thanks.

P.S. Apparently the hand converter thinks a str8 beats a flush. Did I do something wrong or is the problem with the converter?

These results don't make sense. You should be crippled but yet somehow you won a big pot.

It seems to have switched the chip stacks of UTG+1 and CO, and is correctly giving you the side pot.
