Playing the flop with a trash hand, pair + backdoor flush

Hypothetical ...

You're in the BB with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Two limpers, SB completes, you check.

Flop is 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Do you bet or call? If it may be multi-way? Hypothetically, consider you check and there's a bet and a call. Does anyone just bet?

What if the flop is 6-T-Q, one of your suit and you have bottom pair?

Re: Playing the flop with a trash hand, pair + backdoor flush

Suppose it depends on my image at the table. I could see lead-betting this flop if I had a tight image and had some fold equity involved. If the SB leads, probably fold. If I check, the guy behind me bets, everyone calls and I end the action, I may call.

If I'm getting run over, can't semi-bluff here - I'll get called by everyone or raised. More than three players in makes it harder, less likely for me to lead bet. If the Q was an A, I probably wouldn't lead either.

Second example, less likely to bet out. Lots of people stay in with second pair. Check and fold seems better.

case 1, unraised pot, middle pair, bd flush with a board that is ragged, i think you definitely lead out on the flop
case 2, i'd be more inclined to check and fold bottom pair as there are two playable overcards and a possible straight draw. In these situations, texture of the flop is very important
