Small Stakes Private tourney?

I'm a new to posting in the forum, but have been lurking around for the past few months. I came up with an interesting idea...want to gauge interest.

Pokerroom.com has a feature which allows someone to set up a "private tournament" - people can only register using password. Buy in can range from $2 to $500, flexible blind structure etc...very customizable. Can set up a tournament up to 30 days in advance.

If any else in the forum is interested , I would be happy to set something up. I figure it could make for some interesting hand discussions and of course, bragging rights. Buy in anywhere from $10 - $50? (re-buys are a possibility on the site). Suggestions welcome. If this is the wrong forum, feel free to move the thread to MTT.

probably goes in the tourney forums, but that is a pretty cool idea.

i wish Party would come up with more tourney options.

This may or may not go in tourney forum, but I dont see why this is a bad spot for it. This sounds like a good idea, and I think any buy in over 50 is a bad idea cuz the micro nl posters will be excluded (even some may find 50 steep).

25 sounds like a good buyin. Pokerroom sucks though, will stars set this up for us. I think this is a great idea.

PS: Yea i guess this is cash game forum so I can see why it might go in tourney, but I bet it will garner enough interest here and will prob get lost in the tourney forum.

Set up something with a $10-$25 buy-in on Stars or Party around 10PM EST on a Wed or Thurs and I bet you get some interest.

Also, I think Party has private cash tables which is mosre in line with the interests in this forum.

I don't play online much...so if anyone can find another site to play on I'm still game. If we control the tourney structure and player pool, it technically shouldn't matter which site it's on though.

The main reason I thought a tournament would be cool is because it would allow for as many people in the forum to play as possible. With a cash table your only 10 (max) at a time.

I think this would be fun as more of a community thing for this forum, would be in at any of the buyins mentioned. I prefer Stars too, but if not, depositing in pokerroom is fine for me as well.

Since there doesn't seem to be too much interest in the idea in this forum, I'm going to try it out in the MTT forum and see if it catches on.

I'll PM anyone who said they had interest if this thing ever gets any legs.

BTW, I just found out that you can host private tournaments on Stars as well.

Primarily. I played my 1st session at Party last night and I will be back.

Stars does allow you to set private tourneys. I think the min tourney is $10+$1.
