HULA #2 (#3?) is over . . . What have we learned?

I'm not sure whether to post this in here or in Small Stakes HUSH, there should probably be a thread in both . . . curse this split!

It took awhile to wrap up, but HULA 2 (or was it HULA 3?) is finally over. Thought it might be helpful to open up a discussion on what we all learned, from the novices to the veterans.

I'll start . . . as stupid as it seems, I learned it often pays to call on the flop with no pair no draw no overs. It allows you to possible set up a steal on the turn, to steal the pot with a river bet if your opponent checks thinking you called the flop with nothing, and in general allows you to see what his betting patterns are like on the bigger streets. Calling on a A93r flop with your J5o seems retarded, but as far as I can tell, against many players it's not that bad a move.

Or did I learn the wrong lesson? (Obviously, in some cases you want to raise instead of call, or fold instead of call, but just calling and putting the question to your opponent about what action to take on the turn seems more profitable than it otherwise might be.)

Again, wrong lesson to learn? Is this more a raise/fold situation?

I learned that I always find out about HULA too late to participate. When's the next one?

1- Peel the flop. I love peeling the flop.

2- I think people fold the turn too much and probably the river not enough.

3- 30BB's just isn't enough to know much

4- I hate playing on Prima

The biggest feeling I'm left with is that I have no idea if I'm good HU. I went 6-1, but luck felt like a huge factor. I only felt like I had a big edge in a couple of my matches, but I don't even know if that was true.

I learned that i've got alot to learn about HU. However, i felt confident playing HU against donks after HULA, which allowed me to make alot of $.

Also, value-betting is your friend.

I spew chips HU trying elaborate bluffs against thinking players.

HULA just now ended? My final match was 3 months ago(Aug 28).

I know there were at least 2 previous HULAs.

i learned that it is incredibly hard to get ppl to play their matches even when you give them a week or two.

I learned that either I ran bad at the 30BB freezout structure or that I suck at this or more likely a combination of the two... so basically not much.
