Re: Tight player, what type of player do i want to left or right of m

Im a newbie so unsure - Good question though.

Tight on your right, Loose on left would give us:
checks/calls to us(With best hand).

Lots of calls/Raises on our left meaning we get to 3bet etc.

Vice versa, Weak hands we fold and become extra tight due to raises on our right.

Folds on our left, Meaning were generally always in late pos with good hands and big pots.

So from that im guessing Agressive/loose on right, Tight/Passive left.

Interested to see what the good players think - IM A NEWBIE AND POSTING MY THOUGHTS.

On the left, there are a few candidates:

1) extreme tighty. You basically get the button twice in a row here.
2) non-tricky maniac. This will allow you to close action after his frequent raises. You will be able to see what other people do.

right:
1) Tricky players: Allows you to be in position and simplifies things.
2) Passive players: You are less susceptible to being checkraised.

You want agressive players to your right. Why?
So you can see how agressive they are going to be and if you want any part of it. If you acted before and you raised and he re-raised too much, you just lost money that you didn't need to lose. You want to see what they are doing first.

You want conservative players on the left. Why?
Because you want the agressive players on your right to act first.

I generally prefer to have a bad player on my right, and an even worse player on my left.

I always try to put the TAG multitablers on my left. Its blind stealarama time and I can count on them to fold like dominos when I iso raise the LP fish on my right.

You always want position on the best player(s) at the table.

There are advantages to having tight passive players to your left (ie you can steal their blinds, or buy the button), and there are advantages to having a maniac to your left (ie relative position on the raiser - he bets the field into you).

You just don't want good players on your left.

I agree. But sometimes a semi-loose agro on your immediate right can be a pain. They end up make plays on the blinds from the CO position, thus "sometimes" taking away my opportunities on the button to steal, when I'm not up for a 3 bet.
I like the semi-loose agro 2 seats right, and a tight weak player just to my right. But, we don't always get what we want....do we
