Is this standard?

Party 25NL 6max

Villian 1 loves to min raise pre flop - no other notable reads as he is relatively new

Villian 2 loves to push to any weakness

Stacks are 35 apiece

V1 donk raises UTG...folded to me in SB with 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I call and V2 calls

Flop - A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I fire for 2...V2 calls....V1 raises to 5....I push...

Like or puke?

Ugh, with the stack sizes, a push is a little bit much. I think a raise to $15 or so, hopefully V1 will push and you can trap some extra dead money from V2.

Any time you get the money in the middle on the flop with 15 outs... its a fine play.

Benifits of pushing vs this = all the times you clear your flush outs compared to when you trap the guy and he feeels pot commited to a higher flush draw. Its unlikely in this situation but really worth considering.

This leaves you with a great opportunity to stick more money on further streets as a big dog instead of a slight favorite. If you actually hit on the turn or river you can lose action from the made hand that would have called on the flop, and if you don't hit you're losing more to the stubborn caller who would have folded to a push (or other draw when you both hit). Out of position pushing is much better imo, leaves no bad decesions to make on later streets. In position a case could be made for just a standard raise.

Thanks to all...I ran into a guy who apparently loves to instacall for his stack with TPTK (AK) - I didnt improve, but still think it was a good play

Board: Ac 5d 4d

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 56.2651 % 56.27% 00.00% { 7d6d }
Hand 2: 43.7349 % 43.73% 00.00% { AsKs }

you're ahead on that flop, good push, you are happy he called
