Wynn Tourneys?

I just saw an ad for Wynn tourneys last nite in a magazine...does anyone know any details, I'm mainly looking for satellite details...I saw they have a Tuesday noon $300+30 NL tourney. Any information would be appreciated, I cannot find anything anywhere on these, I suspect they're real new.

thanks in advance,
Steve P

The tournaments at Wynn just started last Tuesday, September 20th.

I would avoid the satelites like the plaque. The format is awful. The $330 tournaments on Tuesday and Thursday (which begin at 12:00 pm) have single table satelites for $80 beginning at 8:00 am.

They seat 10 handed and award two $330 seats. So they take in $800 and pay out $660. A vig of $140 or 17.5%. Ouch.

FOr this money, you receive T500 in chips, 15 minutes rounds, blinds at $25-$25 and for the most part doubling from there. Needless to say, it doesn't last long, and you almost can't survive a single beat.

The tournaments themselves are a fairly good structure. You receive T3000 in chips, the rounds are 45 minutes, and the blinds increase very slowly (25-25, 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 150-300, etc.).

They have been averaging about 50-60 players. For 50 or less players, they pay the top 5. For less than 100 players, they pay the top 9. I think the maximum possible to be paid is 27.

First place for the 1st two $330 tournaments has paid between $5K and $6K.

Friday's tournament is at 3:00 pm. It costs $540. Satelites are $125, two seats paid, $170 vig or 13.6%. Same crappy format.

Hope this helps.

Only thing I have to add, on last Friday, they chopped at about ten oclock (lv9 I think). Three left and the payout was really pretty flat.

Thanks for the info any2cards. These Wynn tourneys are news to me. Sounds like they're really decent structure too. Cool! (although I'll have to save up to play in one).

I played in the tourney yesterday. It was a great structure, and I didn't feel shortstacked all tournament. Most people could play poker even on a short stack. It took around 6 hours to finish.
