AJs flop action?

UTG seemed like a solid player after only a few hands but no real read. The tabled played very loose and fishy, big pots with 2nd pairs etc. CO in this hand is one of the fishes, trying to win every hand. I'm loosening up a bit preflop to see if I can hit a big hand.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

UTG ($545)
MP ($294)
CO ($1034.83)
Hero ($712.20)
SB ($1101.29)
BB ($244.20)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2.
UTG raises to $20, 1 fold, CO calls $20, Hero calls $20, 1 fold, BB calls $16.

Flop: ($82) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $40, CO calls $40, Hero ??? and my plan for the rest of the hand?

Make it 240 and call a push? Push any turn? Does this sound good.

I am trying to post more in medium stakes to better my knowledge so I would appreciate feedback on my line.

I like it. Maniacing with draws is always good for your image.

Re: AJs flop action?

if i raise, i make it 140, not 240. vs bad players that call too much, id prefer to make my hand before sticking in huge chunks of my stack, meaning that i dont really feel like playing for my entire 700 dollar stack quite yet (especially since one guy has me covered) if i raise, the reason i do so is because i think i can get a high 1 pair / 2 pair hand to pay me off more when i hit my flush by increasing the pot now rather than later.

it is very likely you are ahead on the flop and will get at least 1 call if you pop it now. this is why i raise vs these guys, not bc i have a huge draw and want folds. if my raise gets called and miss the turn, i check behind and evaluate from there.

This makes sense, but dont you think making NON-Pot sized raises gives away some info?

Re: AJs flop action?

Call the flop. If flush on turn call if both players are in, or bet 1/2 pot if checked to. Call if HU with blank turn only if implied odds are there.

Hard to get paid when you bet a nut flush, but with a fish and position I'm pushing the river if it makes.
