AC Tourney\'s on Weekends
 

Hi,

I am looking to head down to AC for the weekend sometime in early December. I've been there before and played the 1/2 NL game at the Borgata. What a poker room! Anyway, this time I'll be going with a friend whose looking to play a tournament while we are there. I guess I'd be game to play one as long as it is relatively cheap. Anyone know if any of the casinos offer any weekend tournaments under $100 buy in?

Adam, Most of the AC tourneys are run during the week. I believe the Trop has a Sunday morning NLHE tourney. They have a schedule displayed on their web site.

There is a Friday night tournament at Taj for like 215 (NL Holdem). I heard it's fun, but never played it. Cheaper tournaments are typically during the week (Taj has them Mon-Friday and I think Borg does also). Actually, Borg may have a 100 or so one on Friday night, but I'd check their site to be sure.

I just got back from the Borg last weekend and tried out the $100 NL tourney. I am not used to Rebuy/Add-on tourneys and this one was crazy for it. You could rebuy for about the first 90 minutes or so. In the table I sat at we had at least 15 rebuys in that time. In fact, only myself and one other had not rebought. Also I would estimate that 75% of the room also bought the add-on. The tourney was pretty wild because of the rebuys.

Even though it was frustrating to bust someone and watch them just rebuy, I enjoyed the tourney. Just something I need to get used to I guess. However, I would not recommned it if you are looking at only spending $100 on a tourney as you will be playing at a disadvantage considering the majority of the people in it are planning on rebuying and doing the add-on.

the borg. has the $100 NL rebuy on fridays at 3pm. first place around $10,000, 2nd place $5000. top 9 payout. but be ready to spend 3 or 4 hundred with rebuys and add on or dont play. no tourneys on saturday i dont think.
