It's a gamble and I'm not sure how often it has to work -- but it probably works often enough here. I say drop the sexy on him...

So is a sexy where you have the initiative and just give it up for the CR?

'Cause that IS sexy.

yeah you must have the initiative - it's very useful vs. a ~tag who you think is playing wa/wb in position against you, say with a weak pair of aces. so you bet flop, bet turn, then check river, and he thinks you have KK/QQ/whatever and he bets his A5s, then you check raise him with your AK, he pays off and says "idiot."

So what's this called?

I nominate "the reach-around."

A good one.

Too few c/r the river.

Re: Sexy?

if you call a raise on the turn and then you c/r when you improve on the river, i call it the "scribbity"

i call it the "hibbity" if you plan to c/r the river when you call the turn raise (whether the river improves you or not). the hibbity is typically no more valuable than reraising and leading the river - it is simply a move from the bossaggro playbook, which incorporates the additional value of the move which is derived from its capability of inducing tilt in your opponent.

Re: Sexy?

I'll often three bet the turn. I think more often he made an OESD than he specifically has QJ (or J7 or 76) for the made straight. He could be on a combined straight and flush draw also, or he might have made a lesser two pair.

On the river, I bet out. He might be afraid of this river card and afraid of a checkraise, but will often at least call one bet. If he has a straight or made a flush, he might raise anyway.

Am I not being sexy enough?
