I'd probably bet the flop - even though you rate to get check raised a lot here I think you have an equity edge over his range of hands.

I like the river play.

Why did you check the flop?

interesting hand. I think the only reason i check this flop is to raise the turn and take a free showdown unimproved, because K high still has some nice showdown value(plus ure representing a real monster). The flops not a bad one to bet at and I don't think getting raised here is bad at all. I think I still prefer a flop bet.

interesting. you checked the flop because you were sure he was checkraising?

were you folding to a river blank?

i would have bet the flop and 3bet if he c/r me

given the way you played the flop/turn i think a raise is standard on the river

[/ QUOTE ]ok, thinking back on the hand, i now remember that i had called the turn, planning to call a river blank, but then he bet so fast, i wouldve folded Khigh, because i really felt that he had hit that J at that point.

If you've got the guy on a leash where you can stop him bluffing 2 streets by checking behind on the flop then I like it, but given that he's the angry dude who you expect to 3-bet the turn with overcards on 542,4 I don't think this is true, so I prefer bet.

Wanna explain your thoughts on the flop check??

Wanna explain your thoughts on the flop check??

[/ QUOTE ]basically, i think hes checkfolding this flop never, so im not giving up anything by giving free cards... and hes never going to fold Ahigh or better, so checking allows me to induce a turn bluff and ill usually get in a raise when i make a pair or a straight...
i dont want to get checkraised on this flop, especially with a hand that has v mediocre showdown vale like K8, as im now going to make the pot so big that i will prob need to look him up... K high is a dog to the range that checkraises, and alot of hands thatr are coldcalling in the SB hit this kind of board.
