NETeller and Currency Exchanges

I'm unsure of how the currency exchange in NETeller works. For example, I cashed out of Eurobet in USD. It showed up in my NETeller account CAD, but was the money actually converted to CAD or is it just in my preferences to have it shown as CAD?

I ask because it could get pretty ugly cashing out of any online poker room from USD --> CAD, then redepositing CAD --> USD, etc.

contact neteller support and explain you would like to create a new account in USD.

that's what I did after I realized I was funding neteller's college fund

It is more than ugly. They charge you 1.9% currency exchange fee and then give you a bad rate. Call neteller and ask them to change your account to a USD account.

No they will not let you hook up an american funds account to your account since you are Canadian.

Should I make sure my NETeller account is close to empty before doing this? I still have some money in there.

Might as well. I'd put it in a poker account, convert to USD and then put it back. None of my poker money ever ends up in CAD. Personally I just cash out and keep it in USD for whenever I go to the states, but your best move is probably just getting USD checks and either converting them at the bank, or open a USD account so you don't lose the exchange at all.
