Help With Preflop Shorthanded

What hands should be played preflop? I am familiar with the starting hands for a ring game, but not when it gets shorthanded.

I would really love to see an answer to this question from an experienced player.

My general understanding is that you are not longer looking for hands with nut potential. Nut potential hands are good of course, but shorthanded you don't necessarily need the nuts in either direction to scoop the pot. Instead, you need hands which are semi-strong high and have some sort of low possibility. Multi-way potential hands instead nut potential hands.

But then again- I'm doing very badly in my shorthanded games which is what brings me to this forum in the first place...

I thought o8poker.com had a good article on shorthanded limit starting hands but I can't find it on there any more.

I don't change much what I play in a short game. The only hands I add are some of the high pair hands that I don't play full.

The real question is which hands are you going to play in a raised pot because so many hands are raised.

I've been playing a lot recently at short handed tables.

3 or 4 handed:

I'll limp with position with any hand that has two wheel cards with somethng to go with it....like a high pair, or suitedness.

I play many more hands shorthanded.

I will raise with good hands and make continuation bets through the river as long as someone doesn't push back. I see lots of laydowns at the river from opponents that are either confused at what I have or just miss their draws.
