Re: Quick Preflop Situation
Eh, I think it's worth a call
If you flop an ace chances are way high you have the best hand If you flop a K you can lead out, trying to get action from the fish. There's a chance you can fold if the 2+2er raises, of course it depends on the flop and what the fish did But with the chance of two fish joining in on the fun I think you want to see a flop |
Re: Quick Preflop Situation
If the solid 2+2er is the type to make lots of "pot equity" raises here with anything that figures to be favored over random hands (77, ATs, etc) then I think you need to call here. You're actually in good shape against his range, but more importantly, you have a chance to double through either of the idiots when you hit.
But on the other hand, I have no problem folding AK against tight raisers who play well postflop. Here it really comes down to whether the 2+2er has AA/KK often enough to neutralize all the EV you get from the fish paying off your TPTK. |
Re: Quick Preflop Situation
Wow. Can you see into his soul and sense he has AA or KK?
I'd raise to 125 here. I'd have a lot of trouble even folding to a push for only 300. Calling here gets you into a lot of tricky situations. |
Re: Quick Preflop Situation
It two-er has been running over table, good place to slap him down, pump to to 100 or so. If he's playing solid, I like a call. Maybe A hits, and you win a big pot from one of donks with AT or whatever and two-er shuts down with his JJ.
