2001fp resolution problem

Every time I change resolution to 1600x1200 and my computer goes into low power. When I wake it up, I get this message that says "DVI cannot display this mode" So I have to reset my computer because I can't shut down normally because I cant see the screen. Sometimes I need to restart several time before it will display 1600x1200??? Has anyone had this problem?

I don't personally know but some ppl in Computer Technical Help (three below the zoo) may be able to help.
