party 3/6 shorthanded versus 5/10 shorthanded

I have been playing the 3/6 games for 2.5 months now. The first month was great, second month so so, this month I am having a bad swing. I am noticing that it is very tough to find any decent games anymore, anyone else agree? They seem to have become more and more agressive. I am wondering if the 5/10's are better. Should I move up? These are my stats this month:

VP: 21
PFR: 15
Agg: 2.5
WSD: 35.98%
Won at SD: 52.66%
Blind steal: 32%
BB defense: 55%
Folded to river bet: 29.9%

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

If you are having trouble beating a limit, moving up is definitely the wrong thing to do. I have been playing a little 3/6 6max lately and find it substantially softer than 5/10, which is my normal game.

Tough games? Agressive? Hahaha. There are plenty of tables with multiple fish. It doesn't even take a lot of efford to find one. I find them super soft. Although I don't have a big sample size(20k)

Of course the higher limit is NOT easier..
5/10 definitely is more aggressive than 3/6. The difference is not that big but wanting to move up when you got problems at a limit is ... not clever.

I'm finding the 3/6 incredibly soft.. especially as of the last week.

I was struggling with a breakeven run for a couple of weeks, but it was pretty much because my approach to the game sucked. The games are definitely money.

I did not say I thought the 5/10's were easier. I am just spending hours changing tables ( I play 6), trying to find at least 1 or 2 bad players at a table. Seems like a waste of time. But from your responses it seems the 5/10's are even tougher. Overall I am making 2.5 BB/100 in the 3/6. However, first month was 4 bb/100, then 2bb/100 and this month I am having a down swing.

Maybe I am just imagining, but finding a table VP of >35 seems incredibly hard.

you six table so i'm guessing you've got this undercontrol, but datamining 16 tables whenever you're not playing is a nice idea. makes table selection super easy in combination w/a good hud.

How many hands do you play each month? You do realise that extended swings are not uncommon in 6max, you could easily be breakeven this month and still be a 3BB winner in the long run. I play 3/6 and find the games to be very soft, the players are terrible, it's only my own mistakes that cut my winrate.

Re: party 3/6 shorthanded versus 5/10 shorthanded

I play about 40k hands per month. I am fairly new at the shorthanded games. Sounds like I have to get used to the swings. I am having some trouble coping with the agressiveness of most players. But overall I guess I am doing ok.

Seems to me that the daytime games are better than the nighttime games at 3/6? The opposite of what I am used to.

I really appreciate all the advice!!!

I play both 3/6 and 5/10 at Poker Stars. To me theirs not alot of difference between the two....except their are more maniacs at the 3/6. I guess in the end its all about finding soft tables either 3/6 or 5/10. Just my experience.
