This one\'s probably obvious...

But I'm mulling over a small downswing so I better make sure I'm not tilting or whatever. Villain's a sLAP--29/8/1.19 after some 70-odd hands. He's not terrible but not great either--rather loose with the PF cold calls, not that it matters for this hand. I've seen him limp ATo and KQo before FWIW.

Okay, so what's this raising a brick crap? A set of Queens, AQo or even a set of 7s are possible as a slowplay, or I could have him dominated. We 3-bettin' this?

Not me. He's raising fully aware that you've a hand. He's crazy to think you'll fold. I call and bet a club free river.

Re: This one\'s probably obvious...

If the 2 helped him then we are behind so I am calling here and check/calling the river unimproved. We are not ahead often enough to 3-bet this IMO.

Hand 2

Ooh, this one's even better. Villain is similar to the last one, but much more aggro postflop--25/15/2.20. I have every reason to believe he'd go for an open raise with whatever he's got.

Too agro here?

Edit: oh yeah forgot to add, villain bought in for $265.50 so at least he's one tabling and paying attention OH YEAH HOW'S THAT FOR A READ

I'm on the downside also so I think I just call then check/call river. But sometimes I think I'm a candy*** too.

hand1: call down and get ready to see AQ a lot.

Grunch.

I'm not 3 betting here. It looks like a slowplayed AQ to me. He's only sLAP so he isn't raising pure trash in EP and I don't see him raising here as a bluff, I'd guess top pair or better (and probably better). I think the better question is call down or fold as opposed to 3 bet. The call down is offering us 9.75:2 (accounting for rake and assuming he bets the river). We need to be good just over 20% of the time to make it the right play. I think it's close but I'll call down without a better read.

Do you run background checks on all of your opponents?

As for the hand...I wouldnt wanna play A9o out of position against an aggro villian, fold preflop. I'd also bet/call the river...calling someones 3bet after you checkraised is almost never acceptable

Hand 3!

^^^^^^
Hey buying in at a .50/1 table with 260+BB is a little unusual okay also farm school

This session is just full of interesting hands. Villain here is TA, but I don't have much for stats on him.
