Post interview thank you letter question

Is it ok to send a thank you letter or letters via e-mail in this day and age? Is this lazy? How would I even subject it so they open that e-mail - "thank you letter" seems kinda dumb. Many people don't even send them which is retarded but I was wondering if it's worse than sending them via snail mail on good stationary. BTW - if it's determined it should regular mail, should I hand write it???? Sheesh it's been a long time. I have an interview tomorrow and was kinda wondering this.

Its ok but paper lasts longer and makes it appear as if you spent more time. If you arent 100% sure you nailed the interview i would send a paper letter...

I would send it on nice stationery, with a hand written envelope, but a typed letter is definitely acceptable. if you can, throw in a reference to something you all talked about. for example "thanks for taking the time to meet with me blah blah blah, our discussion of {insert topic here} really piqued my interest in {insert company here}"

If it was a single interviewer then hand write something. It shows more initiative and it gets the potential employer to think about you a day or two after the interview.

More than one interview then send the 'lead' interviewer the hand written note and an email to anyone else you met during the process.

For out of town interviews I have thanked drivers and admins who helped me with accommodations and transportation. Assume that anyone you meet during the interview process has input into the hiring decision.

Sounds good. Yeah, I remember once having to send like 7 letters after an interview at Spear Leeds cause I met with like a billion traders. Pain in the ass.

You medium for replying should be based solely on their turn around time. If they make a decision within a day or two, you have to email.

Email is fine. Hard copy is nicer and stands out, but the difference is minimal.

Here is the important thing, though:

When emailing multiple interviewers, DO NOT CUT AND PASTE BIG CHUNKS OF THE EMAIL AND JUST CHANGE ONE SHORT SENTENCE.
