You be the bad guy, whatta you do? Live 20/40

B&M 20/40 w/ a kill. This is not a kill pot.

As a break from the norm, i'm going to post this from the opponents perspective, with what I know he thinks of me and my play. We have a lot of history together. Opponent is a little loose preflop, and varies greatly post flop. I'm interested primarily in his preflop and flop/turn decisions.

The Cast:

Villian is in the c/o.
The button is horrible.
Both blinds are extremely tight.
Villian sees me as a young semi-pro who's preflop range is reasonably wide here. He knows that I know that the blinds are really tight, and that I might be raising lite because of it. I know he knows all of this.
I'm UTG+1

Pre-Flop:
UTG folds. I raise. folded to villian w/ AQo.

If you're him, what's your move here?

He 3bets. Button calls 3 cold (could be anything). Small blind calls, big blind folds. I cap and everybody calls.

Flop:

883 rainbow.

Checked to me and I bet. Villian is next, whats your move?

He calls. So does everybody else.

Turn:
2 suit not important. Checked to me and I bet again. Villian...???

I'll post what he did and what I thought about each street later.

All comments appreciated, and Merry Christmas

I'm folding the turn if i'm in villain's shoes.

Muck that [censored]. You've got two players left to act + a UTG+1 player capping PF. Ace high no good, bo.

Also, if he puts you on a UTG blind steal, more power to him. (and you) YEESH!

I think mucking the flop is reasonable as well.

a UTG blind 'steal's isn't completely out of the question for the 2nd bet. He knows i'm not capping 3 other players preflop, two of whom are pretty tight and called 3 bets preflop, with any less then AKs.

Villian raised the turn. Everbody folded but me, and I called. The river paired the 3, and I bet. He called.

What are your thoughts on his turn raise? At first it looked like complete spewage (still does pretty much), but how valid is the thought of cleaning up your A (if the blinds have AK) or freeing up 1/2 the pot (if they have AK).

I think in this particular situation it doesn't help enough to make it the right move, but it may be worth thinking about.

At any rate he called my river bet and I won w/ JJ.

more comments welcome,

from villain's perspective, if you were capable of betting an UI AK again on the turn into him and the callers... it's not *horrible* but even so i still wouldn't like it because its such an absurd parlay;

1. - you'd have to have AK (the likelihood decreased imo due to your turn bet)

2. - the blinds would have to fold to the raise

3. - you don't pair up on the river (since then you'd definitely be showing down)

4. - he's probably have to follow it through with a river bluff (which would probably work, but who knows)

i'm in the complete spewage camp as well.

merry x-mas.
