The red and green boxes, signifying best home and road lines...does this assume that the home is the favorite?

It doesn't assume anything. Red is the best line to use if you want to bet the road team. Green is the best to use if you want to bet the home team. Doesn't matter who is favorite/dog.

This year I'm going to take sports betting more seriously...would have been down huge last year but 1 lucky parlay saved me.
