Game selection which would you prefer? Drunks vs Gambooolers

I went to Casino AZ Saturday night after busting out early in the Fort's nightly MTT. I get there about 8:30pm and it is BUSY in the high stakes section. All tables are full and the board is heavy.

There are three games of my game the 5-150 spread limit. I am about 20 or so down the list and know I am in for a long wait so I figure I will take the time to really check out the games.

Table #1: A poker buddy of mine is sitting this game and I sweat him while getting a feel for the table. In seat 2 is a guy that hit it big playing BJ and has >$10K in his front poket. He is being very aggressive in late position and calling lots of raises in MP to LP. He is making some wild bets post flop and has rebought three times in the 20mins or so I was watching. He is a real gamboooler. In seat 3 is a big stack that has >$2K in front of him. He is playing back at seat 2 regularly. He appears to be more or less on tilt. Both are spewing chips to my buddy, one of only 2 or 3 strong players at the table. There is another donk on the table that is dropping buy-ins too, but likely will not last much longer as the wife is sweating him now and does look too happy.

Table #2: Seat #1 is a first time 5-150 player (normally plays 4/8), seat #2 is a guy with about $900 and is so stoned he can barely count out his chips. Seat #3 is very drunk, mad (verbally abusing the dealers and other players) and has >$1K in his wallet that he is dipping into for $100-$200 at a time. Seat #8 and #9 are bad regulars that I love to pick on; they love to river bluff with air. No strong players present at the moment.

Third table is a group of weak/tight nits and I would not want that table at all.

Of the two tables, I know that I can get a table change within 30 mins or so if I want to.

So which table would you prefer to be at and why?

I choose the drunks. They are both gonna give their money away hand over fist, but the drunks add in the extra chance of misreading their hand/the board, etc. Also, you have no other strong players at that table to interfere.

Table 2 for me.

Table 1 has merit(amount of money on the table, people willing to gamble), but having 2 or 3 good players on the table means that sharks are already in the water.

I want Table 2 where I am the lone shark, and I have my pick of the litter, especially with two fishy regulars I already know I can beat. Table 2 seems like a surer bet and a better spot to make money.

On a side note, table 3 could be really sweet if you can LAG it into tilt.

I choose 3 and straddle every time.

Do you see why?

That is pretty much what I thought too. I ended up on the #2 table but was jones'in for the #1 table with the massive pots and deep rolls.

What made me kind of question my choice to stay at #2 instead of asking for a table change to #1 was my buddy and another regular (that took the seat I would have changed to), took another $3-$4K off the BJ player and busted seat #3. So there was about $6K that was more or less split between two players on that table, which is 3x what I took off the stoner, drunk and the weak regulars.

I agree, this was a possible choice. But more times than not getting real LAG or straddling, etc on these tables just ends up with the weak coming out more than the fight back/tilt does. Frustrating to say the least. But once in a while, you hit gold.
