The dynamics of the Overbet
Ok... Hope ya'll dont get sick of my general posts instead of specific hands...
I have seen more and more people using the "overbet" lately. What is the point in using it? When do you use it? Why do you use it? It seems like a waste of money to me because if I see someone continually using the overbet as a bluffing technique (which I am seeing more and more of) then I am going to use it against them whether I have a hand or not... Thoughts? |
Re: The dynamics of the Overbet
Most good online players will only overbet with very good hands or very good draws. I think their game is imbalanced in that way.
However, it doesn't seem to cost them anything as there is always someone bad enough to call them. |

Re: The dynamics of the Overbet
you use it to look like a buy against an opponent who has tendencies to make a "big call"
your average player doesn't like folding on the river with a decent hand. catch a few good hands and use this move, someone will look you up |
