Guitar legend dies

Link Wray, 76, died.

The hit Rumble, which featured in "Pulp Fiction", is the only instrumental banned by American radio stations. The deejays said it was "inciting violence".

R.I.P. Sorry to see him go...

On a semi-related note I just saw that the legendary Les Paul at 90 is still playing live, inventing and going strong....keep rockin Les...

Saw Link in concert at The Horseshoe in Toronto a few years back. Even in his 70s he put on an awesome show. At one point he passed his guitar in to the mosh pit for someone else to play. Then dragged the guy onstage. The whole place was going nuts for the entire show. There were a lot of members of local bands in attendance.

That was a concert that was worth attending.

Re: Guitar legend dies

i was reading about him last week after coming in late on some older interviews he did on NPR. because the interviews were old (97 or 99?) i assumed he already died.

when i looked up the info on allmusic.com i was surprised it was noted he was still alive. when did link die? you have a link to story? it would make sense now if NPR was playing the interviews on the day of his death and allmusic just hadnt updated their site because it happened that day.
