I know my post-flop line is wrong, but what\'s right?

I feel like hands like this are the biggest leak in my game. Long-call type situations where I lost control of the hand. Also, this table was playing very fast with lots of big action on marginal hands. However, I had no direct read on main villain. Any suggestions on the hand would be greatly appreciated.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) converter

BB ($99)
Hero ($103.50)
MP ($53.50)
CO ($91)
Button ($69.30)
SB ($67.85)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero raises to $3, MP calls $3, 1 fold, Button calls $3, 1 fold, BB calls $2.

Flop: ($12.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $7, MP folds, Button folds, BB raises to $14, Hero calls $7.

Turn: ($40.50) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($40.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets $20, Hero calls $20.

Final Pot: $80.50

Well, how about potting flop?
Other than that as played.

Without reads why are you checking behind on turn? [ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ] I think a minimum check-raise by an unknown means very little here, he may have a 4, a naked 5, an over pair smaller than your queens etc. etc. Checking behind on turn, to control pot size might seem like a good idea, but against an unknown I am probably making a 3/4 to full PSB. Free cards make me sick, especially when he turns over A4o on the river.

I think the weak flop bet is what got Hero in trouble.
Now he doesnt quite know what he's up against.

Whats wrong with the flop bet? A 2/3 pot cbet is pretty standard, no?

Usually a full pot sized bet is the norm. It seems to command more respect.

I have a set. I don't want respect. I want draws to come along when I'm ahead, not fold.

A continuation bet is a bluff though, your bet is a value bet.

A continuation bet should be the same whether you have a hand or not. To change bet sizes based on strength of hand is a tell.
