Re: $22 - How do you play KK with a flopped A?

that ridiculous bet could mean that he's afraid of the A too.

Not really sure what to do though. Any reasonable raise would pretty much pot commit you. I would probably call and see what villain does on the turn.

that's a pretty bizarre raise from villain.

i definitely want to raise here. problem is that the pots already at 500+ and you've got 575 behind. you may be going broke on this hand... been involved with any other hands with villain?

Re: $22 - How do you play KK with a flopped A?

If you give villan a bit of credit, then it seems that the two flush flop would lead him to bet a hell of a lot more than t45 if he had an A. A flopped set at this level would most likely either check to trap or raise to the flush draw as well. Combined with his call preflop, it smells like QQ-TT.

I most likely can't bring myself to fold this, because I've seen this weak flop bet many times when villan is not holding an ace.

I might flat call, I might reraise (but not push)

If the bet had been normal sized I would generally just fold. My first thought was to call and postpone the real decision until after the turn. But, maybe a raise is in order to help figure out where I am.

I hate party tournaments because the stacks are so shallow so early on. That said, I probably raise to likee 250 or something here, and after all, you've got at least 3 outs if you aren't ahead already, which I think you will be most of the time. This certainly looks like a scared JJ or QQ.

Re: $22 - How do you play KK with a flopped A?

What kind of crazy bet is that? Could he be trying to buy a cheap turn card? I suppose this is unlikely given that you have the Kc. It seems to me that a raise large enough to give you more information will leave you pretty much pot committed.
I'd probably call here and see what develops on the turn. I can't fold to such a tiny bet.

Call and re-evaluate turn. I've gotten to showdown with a winner here for cheap lots, but I also have had to fold a lot too.

Villain's 45 bet on the flop is too small to fold to. Call and gauge on the turn.

And what's your plan if he re-rerases back? What's your move on the turn if he calls?

Fold/check-fold.

If he shows any strength in this hand, you want to go away as fast as you can.

Thats what I normally do and they fold very often. The minibet at the lower limits is some perverse form of blocking bet with no attention paid to the board most of the time.

i would read that small bet as a blocking bet for his flush draw.

raising to 150 in a 500 pot gives him the odds to draw though.

raise to 300.

3 folds, MP1 raises to t50, 2 folds, CO calls t50, Hero raises to t200, 2 folds, MP1 calls t150, CO folds.

Flop: (t472.50) 2, A, 3 (2 players)
MP1 bets t45, Hero ??

His bet is essentially a check for all intents and purposes, and I don't mind giving a free card here being the ace of clubs is on the board, WA/WB IMO. Call and see if you catch another club on the turn - if he donkbets again he's liable to have nothing.

Raise to 300 and leave yourself w/ 275???
May as well push if this is the case. Raise to 150 to get more information without necessarily commiting yourself. Alot of players will fold on this level without an ace (even though they have pot odds and drawing odds).

I agree completely with this. Some bad players at the 20's will stop firing shots after the flop and then it's your time to fire back.

Plus you have more than just 3 kings that can win you this pot. Don't discount the possibility of getting another club to give you more outs by the river if your opponent is going to bet out such small amounts.
