How to stop putting all profits back after good sessions
 

Can any one help me out. I allways lose after I have a great day. The next time or two I will put most of my winings back. I do suffer alot of bad beats, but this pattern is to often. So their has to be more to it than the bad beats and poker gods. I dont want to wast time and talk about alot of the hands but i feel it is me. Is there any books on controlling yourself when it gets going bad, like days like you flop a set and a guy has four to a flush and hits, but when you have top pair with the nut flush draw you dont hit,and the next thing you know your reaching in your pockent or doing the walk of shame."walk to atm"
any advice is appreciated

Everyone takes bad beats. Good players take more than they give, however. Read Zen and the art of poker, also read the Tao of Poker. Ultimately, you need to be non-result oriented, and strictly decision oriented. Correct decisions are what you need to be concerned with, not the results. From the looks of your post, you need to surf these forums at length and try to play as much poker as you possibly can at a limit that you can afford.

thanks tex , just got a computer and am already learning alot, and i had a great first weekend of poker online and a very bad mon and tues.

Trust me.

When your winning it feels normal.

When your losing you feel like 1) poker is rigged 2) you suck at poker

When your breaking even 1) poker is rigged 2) you suck at pokwer

Thats exactly how i feel , i put back all my winnings after a couple of bad beats. Should i stay away and get my head together. or just keep grinding it out.
Its weird how when it rain it poors. like out of big bling flopping two pair Ace five suited and losing to ace queen in river.
i don want to chase my winnings back that probably will only result in bad play. or should i just play

Sorry, but your problem is a losers syndrome. The real question is: Are you actually a consistent winner?

Immature, losing players are always dealing with the problem of "bad beats" while winning players have bad streaks but don't blame bad cards on their losses.

Want to stop your problem? There are two things you can do:

Stop playing poker.

Learn to play better.

Sorry, there just ain't no other solutions.

Gamblers, in general, tend to be delusion (myself included).

After that great day, whether it be at the track or in the casino, the gambler says "Aha! I've got it all figured out. From here on in, it's gonna be different."

Of course, it isn't different. Gambling is a grind. You're gonna have hot streaks and cold streaks. The winners are able to maximize the hot and minimize the cold.

From the philosophical to the technical, after gamblers win, they tend to overplay. Horseplayers start playing too many races; card players, too many hands.
