Why Dice in poker chip sets?

I'm just wondering. Every set of chips on ebay comes with dice. I've never played dice at any poker game I've been to. Why are they included? Am I missing out on some cool game?

I can't wait for the casino that Clark Griswold visited to start offering this one right next to Guess the Number

On a serious note, craps also uses chips so these could just be leftovers (just speculation on my part).

What i don't understand is why when you buy a set of those cheap chips with dice on them do they send you playing cards?

We use our casino chips for craps and other dice games. Are you guys using chips to play cards?

Did you read the rules for that game? They sound AWFUL.

For one thing, there's 5 dice of each "suit", so the chance of a "flush" is really really small. On the other hand, the rank of each "card" is a die roll, so they're independent. That means full houses (and quads) are a lot easier.

It looks like all the convenience of actually playing poker, except there's lots of "blind drawing" of dice, and awkward cups to hold them, combined with bad math. Count me in!

And, of course, they fall into the trap of EVERY bastardized poker game: the have to rank 5-of-a-kind ("quints"?).

The worst part? Now they have 5-kind SUITED.

The ultimate hand is a Yahtzee flush" 5-of-a-kind in the same color "suit"!”

We use the dice if there is a split pot and there is one .25 chip left. The person with the highest roll gets the chip.
