What book to buy?
 

Hi, for the past few years i haven't really studied the complex math of poker like david sklansky-- i just went on pure strategy and very rough math. I usually play 18 player sit and go tournaments, some online poker tournaments, so mainly im a tournament player. Now that i have perfected a lot of strategy i want to get into really complex game theory. That said, which of david sklansky's books should i buy?

good book to start is Sklansky's Tournament Poker for Advanced Players..I learned a lot from that

Yea but i dont need anymore strategy, i need like game theory. I was reading these posts and there are things like "log2" and "log4" I want to know what those are about

There is nothing by Sklansky (and as far as I know by any other poker author) that really covers what you are looking for. You will need to investigate general game theory books.

The figures like log2 and log4 were the results of calculating a player's expected value. Therefore, you need to supplement any game theory texts with texts on probability. One of the few game theory books I have found with some reference to poker is "Fun And Games" by Ken Binmore. It doesn't cover Hold 'em explicitly, but a lot of the theoretical insights are useful.
