Pokerstars Reply for the HU Tourney

Hello Emil,

I have deployed an event which I believe meets your needs. You can view
this event in your PokerStars software under the Tourney/Private
tab. "Special Heads-up Matches" will be listed at the top if you sort on
the "Date" column. You can register and unregister if you like to see how
that works.

The event is a S&G so players can play whenever they choose. As soon as
one player registers, another S&G will open for registration. This will
enable a player to wait for his opponent without causing others to wait
for it to fill before another S&G opens for registration.

The one thing I cannot do is force a player to rebuy when his stack falls
below 1000 (100 BB) chips. In fact, I cannot force a player to rebuy at
anytime. The players must rebuy BEFORE THE START of the first break, after
which they will not be allowed to rebuy. If a player loses his stack
before the start of the first break and has yet to make his one rebuy, he
will be prompted to either rebuy or quit. Obviously, if he chooses to quit
(or does not have the $.01 in his account for the rebuy) the match ends. I
have scheduled the first break to start 90 minutes into the match. If you
need that changed, let me know. This is somewhat critical as it determines
the end of the rebuy period.

Players must have a minimum of $.02 in their account to cover the buyin
and the rebuy. The winner will be awarded the $.04.

Particulars:

2-player Sit&Go
Blinds are 5-10 for the duration the match
Password = LeeTheFlea (caps required)
Buyin = $.01 and player receives 2,000 chips
Fee = $.00
Rebuy = $.01 and player receives 1,000 chips

We will not charge a fee to run this event.

Let me know if this is ok and that you do wish for PokerStars to host
these matches.

Regards,

Henry

This is perfect with one small problem-I think we should ask for the rebuy period to last 2.5 hours. Outside of that, this is everything we could ask for. I assume these tables will be available throughout the next month or so?

Does this allow observers? Even though I think most people on this board are fairly trustworthy, there's a lot of money at stake and it's just your word against the other guy's as to who won the match.

Yes it seems to allow. At least I was able to watch Previcator and Whitelime playing.

Pokerstars emails you the results of every HU SNG automatically. This should be true even of these new set-ups.

watch out for yeti, he is a suckout artist!

weak-tight to the extreme, yet tried retarded bluffs.

he too scared to raise a set on river on dry board against me. thats how weak.

yet i call his river 2x pot bet with A high, sniffing out his measly K high.

suckout artist though. i may have to change my brackets.

everything looks great.....question: what if we can't/don't wanna play the whole match in one sitting?.....I guess we could record the chip counts and then chip dump right at the beginning of the next session?.....

If anybody wants a scouting report on whitelime, transfer $200 to Vick Is God on Stars. Sneak preview: it includes "loves gutshots" and "buddy list material."

[/ QUOTE ]

I saw an email from Henry to Emil saying that he'd extended the rebuy period to 2.5 hours.

I wanted to first thank you folks for using PokerStars as your host for this event. We're delighted to be part of this - it sounds like a ton of fun.

I also want to take a quick moment here to shine the spotlight on Henry Estes, who isn't much for publicity. Obviously, we're a team at PokerStars; everybody does his or her thing and the result is pretty sweet, as you can see. But sometimes it's worth noting an individual player who did something really cool. Henry stepped right up to this, and was IM'ing me last night "Hey - I think I got this working. Come over to this table and try it out for me."

So hoist your next beer in Henry's general direction.

Best regards,
Lee Jones

Lee Jones is an absolute superstar.

It's absolutely absurd how far Stars staff surpasses anything else out there on the market, especially when there's no doubt that PartyPoker has equal or greater resources.

Are we allowed to give out the password to these? It seems there's quite a bit of interest.

Well whitelime posted it in the thread so it seems like there's nothing we can do about it. If Lee Jones minds, I'm sure AZK can edit the post.

After communicating with Lee Jones, I have come to the conclusion it would be best if we DID NOT divulge the password. Everybody in the tourney should have a PM with the new password. Let me know if I missed you.
