Flopped Trips: Too Slow? Too Fast?

$2/$4 6m 6h

Button is 37/3/ ~.6 after 32 My impression is that he's too conservative but othewise solid.

Preflop: Hero is CO with 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG calls, MP calls, Hero calls, Button calls, SB folds, BB checks.

Flop: (5.5 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 10[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 10[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players)
Check, check, checks, Hero bets, Button raises, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.5 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero 3bets, Button caps.

River: (12.5 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero raises

Did I play the flop too slowly? Did I play the turn too hard? I think the river is OK.

Re: Flopped Trips: Played too Slow, Played too Hard?

I like to 3-bet the flop and lead the turn.
It's either a free card attempt (89 or flush draw) or a weak pair.
On the turn it seems he has either a better Ten, 77 or a flush draw with a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] King.
River is good.

Why are you just calling the flop raise and then donking the turn?

Might as well 3-bet the flop if you plan to donk the turn.

3bet the flop and lead the turn. I don't like the turn donkbet in this spot. Even against fairly aggressive players I think you only get called on the turn w/ a weak pair on a board like this and miss out on a bet. Against a passive player you are only getting called on the turn more often and getting raised with bigger Ts.

If its a player raising the flop for a free card w/ a diamond draw or 89, you also just lost out on a small bet when he calls the turn donkbet.

I cap the river at this level always.

Everything looks fine to me. You could have probably bet the flop since he probably wouldn't put you on a set given that there were 2 on the board.

3-bet the flop, or check raise the turn. I 3-bet the flop.

Given your line, once he raises the turn, I just call down.

Given villain's stats and his turn cap, I don't like the river 3 bet. He doesn't seem scared of a boat.

Or he has a worse boat, overplayed trips.
