Historically, for the home team, yes. Detroit has won 6 of their last ten Thanksgiving games. Given that they've been one of the worst teams in the league in that time span, Barry or no, you can see the advantage.

After watching Detroit for the first time this year I have realized that they cannot be considered an NFL team.

Also why hasnt the NFL stepped in to make sure that no fan should be forced to watch the Lions play unless they go out of their way to watch them, such as paying for all the games on the dish or something. Watching the Lions play is almost painful.

Detroit and Dallas deserve to keep the Thanksgiving games. They stepped up when no one else wanted them, and now everyone wants them. The NFL should add a night game and rotate it.
