$11 Getting myself in trouble in level 1?

Should I slow down when called on the flop? Should I bet this river?

If you want to raise, raise smaller.

Don't build such a huge pot man, dang!

However, if you raise to T45 and get called (or T60), we have a pot on the turn of T177.50, much smaller.

Now you can bet T100 into this. Look, I've already saved you T130.

If you want to subscribe I've got many more chip saving strategies.

(aside from the raise amounts, I think your line is fine.)

What do you do when the button minraises you on the turn?

Ugh...

Exhibit A for why playing hands OOP really sucks. I might have actually check / called the flop just to keep the pot small and see how serious button was about the hand.

I'm definitely slowing down on the turn though.

Here's my line: check / call the flop. Lead the turn. If raised, let it go.

Probably have to let it go if that happens. It is very rare that people semi-bluff draws on the turn at this limit, especially when someone else showed strength on the flop.

And I agree that I built this pot way too big. He was supposed to fold on the flop, damnit!

I would think you need to raise less on the flop, and bet less on the turn.

There are obviously three ways to play this: Aggressively (how you've played here), Passively (check/call for a cheap showdown), or just by mucking it (No reason to get involved in a marginal situation this early).

I think I generally take a passive line here in the early levels, especially after the flop call, and if that means giving someone a free draw to their flush, so be it.

I think if you're going to play this aggressively, you need to control the size of the pot. The way you've played it, you've put yourself in a position where you can't even make a non-fishy blocking bet on this river.

Were I to play this aggressively, I think I raise the flop to 60, then bet the turn for about 100 or so. This would give you some breathing room on the river to bet out and fold to a raise.

I also think a very good argument could be made just for calling the 15 on the flop and mucking to any aggression.

I would probably call the flop to keep the pot small and attempt to c/r a non-club turn representing an 8 in the blind.

1st question, why are you playing the 11s?

Since I am european I usually play a few 11s if the player volume is very low (16k players) at Party.

When you americans wake up I'll move to the 22s.

Results: He checked behind me on river. Both had KTo and pot was split. Can't decide which one of us played the hand worst. Think that one is split also.
