Heisman Trophy

WSEX has Vince Young and Matt Leinart at +1566

(the contracts thing, buy at $6 pays $100)

Isn't Vince Young a pretty good value here, if the East Coast voters split the USC guys?

Re: Heisman Trophy

Vince Young is the only person to come close, but the trophy is basically for Reggie Bush to lose. Hard to see that happening with 1 game left.

Re: Heisman Trophy

It's really hard to see Bush not winning at this point. Young's golden opportunity to keep it close was last week, which was an ugly game televised nationally.

I've got Bush at -135 on intertops, i'm sure this line has gotten much worse by now if even still offered there.

Re: Heisman Trophy

Would it be profitable to bet Young AND Bush?? or is the vig too high??

Because there is no effing way leinart wins... ever

I cant find the offer on intertops anymore. WSEX offers Bush at -1566 and Young at +1328.

I'll also add there's a lot of push from the past heisman winners (who all get a vote) to keep the trophy being a singular occurance - no one's won it twice. The votes aren't going to be split - its going to be Bush in a landslide, especially after the performances this week. Colorado is going to give Texas a lot more than a lot of people expect.

Archie Griffin won it twice. I think somebody else did back in 40's too but I could be wrong on that.

I think the only way Bush loses this is if he gets and injured and UCLA defeats USC. Bad.

Hell, that actually might make Bush more valuable

You're right - "Only 1 player, Archie Griffin, a running back for Ohio State, has won 2 Heisman Trophies; he did so in 1974 and 1975."

I still think thats a factor - previous winners won't want to create a two-time heisman winner, whether or not its never happened or has only happened once.

I also think Bush is pretty clearly the best player in college football right now. If I had a vote, I'd vote for Quinn over Leinart if I were voting for a QB - he's got better stats and is in my opinion more valuable to his team (which is vastly exceeding expectations this year in strong part due to his play, compared to USC which everyone knew would be a frontrunner).

Holy cow. I got Bush at +108 on Pinnacle about a month ago. Now there's a swing. 500 and some all purpose yards in one game will do that though.
