collusion in a Pokerstars satellite

In case you missed the discussion on Paul Phillips's blog, check out these two entries in Alan Bostick's blog "As I Please":

Stupid Cheater of the Week

Stupid Cheater Update

The response of PokerStars, as set out in the second of these links, is troubling.

Pokerstars response is horrible imo because it is the intent to cheat which is important not the efficacy.

Here is a definition from dictionary.com:

"To act together secretly to achieve a fraudulent, illegal, or deceitful purpose; conspire."

Secondly, it probably isn't that hard for them to at least attempt to find the admitted colluders. I will send Lee Jones an email.

Third, it is ridiculous to assume if a combined stack can make the money then two individual stacks have enough chips to make the prize.

yeah, but how are they supposed to find the cheaters. i did't see anything in pp's blog entry that would lead them to the cheaters

Absolutely ridiculous response. If they can't find that hand history?? Phew!! How ignorant are they at PokerStars?

Defining chip dumping as they do. What the hell is that? They are certainly not loaning them. They did not win the chips honestly. They were dumped....intentionally!

If this response was posted so that poker masses would see and read it, it would be devastating to Stars. They are nearly condoning there actions

I thought collusion could be a huge problem with the advent of "virtual" poker. I generally play huge MTT tournaments because I don't really trust the higher stacks ring games. IT is too easy to get 4 guys on a ring game table but the same 4 guys would not be able to get on the same table in a 1000 person MTT.

Well, if Stars feels that dumping, as aforementioned,is okay, then I will not be playing my WSOP qualifier there.

I shot Lee Jones an email asking him to review the situation and the pretty weak response.
