Vegas options for SH games

I'll be headed out west to Vegas in a couple weeks and was wondering what are the options for a SH online player like myself. I started at full ring games and then fell in love with (online) SH games, which is where I've played the last year. I play on getting some online full ring practice in before I leave, but I'm wondering if I can find our beloved SH games out there?

Thanks!

mirage 40/80 is usually short in the day or at weird times like 4am. their 20/40 gets short too but not as often, at least when i was there.

It's tough to find.

Casinos like to keep the tables full, and many players start to whine when the game gets short.

Playing late night hours is probably your best bet. Also the higher limits seem to get short more often.

I'm not from Vegas, but at the local card room people constantly whine if the table isn't 9 or 10 handed. They bitch about having to pay the blinds too much(3/6 4/8 limit only). The only time I get to play SH is after about 2AM on a Fri, Sat, Sun night. Once I'm at the last table and it starts getting late, people slowly start going home and I can finally get some live SH games where I actually dominate instead of feeling like a fish.

I think it will depend, in Vegas, mostly upon the stakes you play. If you play at a large card room with low-mid stakes you are likely not going to get a SH game ever. I'd be willing to bet anything 3/6-10/20 has multiple full tables going 24/7. Your best bet for these limits might be to try and find a smaller cardroom and wait until late or try a weird hour during the day.

Have fun.

Middle of the night and higher limits will be your best bet as they often get short. I played a bunch of 3 handed 40/80 last night and even a little heads up but it was 4am. Very fun.

Limits would be helpful, but just give up on it. The Bellagio $80/160 is very occassionally short (if they are starting a second must-move and the main game is full), but otherwise, I think I've maybe played in a short Wynn $30/60 and that's about it (of course, the game sucked).

Just play full-ring.

If you do find a short-handed game, ask the floor to cut down or even remove the rake. I've seen them give in to this before. From their point of view, you are doing them a favor by playing short-handed and keeping the game alive.

This was part two of the plan. Part 1, play mid stakes holdem and then go get drunk and tilt a 2/4 table playing blind/drunk/blind drunk....
