Standard?

Second orbit or so. No reads except villain plays an average amount of hands (~20%). Check behind the river, or do we lose too much value?

I guess it's easy seeing that he check/raised, to just say that you should check behind, and i don't think that's such a bad play...

But the more i think about it, the more i like betting the river...
Can you out him on the flush the way he played it? (up to the c/r)

I don't know, this is a head-scratcher... But i need some sleep now, it's 5:30 AM

I check behind on the river here.

You can't risk him doing something strange like check raising KJ here.

Your bet gets you $10 when he calls, but loses a $25 pot if he does something strange or tricky.

I guess a case could be made for checking the river versus a readless opponent but I like the river bet.

That being said he played it like he rivered a flush so I guess you should give him credit for it.

It would take one maniac to c/r with air at this river. I think a fold here is safe but readless I might just call because I'm a donk and I don't like folding trips.

I think the entire concept here is that Villain is check/calling Hero's bet with KJ but check/raising if he rivered his flush.

I don't know many players that overvalue their hands so hard that they would play KJ in such a fashion.

I dont like your river bet at all. the 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is a really ugly card, ugly enough that he might not make the thin call down he planned on making with one pair. Some players don't even think much about your hand, they just know that a flush and straight are now possible and they like their hand less. I don't think enough worse hands than yours call, and I definitely don't think any better hands fold.

If he raises your weak river bet big, he could be bluffing, but you won't call because you're not getting great odds, and you will tell yourself that overbet=nuts and fold.

If he raises your weak river bet small like he did, he has the goods, and you're folding.

Take the free showdown.

Folding: you are getting 4:1. That hurts, but after Xorbie educated me earlier tonight, I can't argue.

Checking behind: Most of the time it is someone calling down w/ TP. Until someone does some high level stats on about a million hands, I don't know if your bet is good or not.

People in the 100 game don't bluff raise the river. They would just lead the river to represent the flush. Maybe I'm good at game selection though
