Pocket T\'s hand that bothered me

Live tournament at the Trop in AC, $100+$20 with 1 add on, no rebuys. Start w/ $4,000, add-on after round 4. With 5 mins left in round 4, I'm dealt pocket T's in mid position (2 and 3 were the blinds, I was in 7) I have $3,900 at the time. UTG, who I cannot remember entering a hand yet raises to 3x (100-200 blinds 25 ante). Fold to me and I muck and feel dirty about it still 3 days later (It folded around and he didn't show). Too weak or should I go w/ my read this early? I went on to do well, but that is the one hand all day I have second thoughts about..

Against a rock in an online tourney i would consider folding this, but i tend to have a better feel in real life, so i dont think i would fold here. I like calling and seeing what happens on the flop.

I have no problem at all folding TT to a raise from someone I havn't seen raise (or for that matter play) in 4 rounds.

His possible starting hands:

AA 6 ways
KK 6 ways
QQ 6 ways
JJ 6 ways
AK 16 ways
Bluff? Ignorable.

Did I miss any? AQs maybe?

And what is the pot? $800 and $300 to call? 2.5-1 pot odds.

Anyway, of the 40-44 starting hands a rock will raise with from EP, you're a 4.5-1 dog on over half and a coin flip on the rest.

I say "good fold" and sleep well.

I think that's too tight. TT is a good hand and he could easily have AK/AQ. You have position. You almost have good enough odds to call just for set value. I'd call, see the flop, and play accordingly. If an A, K, or Q hits the flop and he bets hard I'd probably muck. If I flop an overpair or perhaps with only a J on the board I'd be inclined to take a stab at the pot. Even if you lose half your stack you have enough with the add-on to make a run.
