Let\'s Talk Fantasy Baseball

Who are your top 10 players for next year's draft? Here are mine (I may be missing a few players...this is off the top of my head): 1. A-Rod - Stock just went up with Damon signed, RBI total could go even higher, although SB's may drop 2. Pujols 3. Vlad - I think too much of a health risk to take # 1 or 2 4. Tejada 5. Manny - depends where he lands... 6. Texiera - keeps getting better and better and better 7. Soriano - Could be lower if he loses 2B eligibility 8. Santana - will continue to dominate 9. Cabrera - great keeper 10. Crawford - I think he could hit 20 - 25 HR to go with 50+ SB IMO, just missing: Ortiz (losing Damon/Manny will hurt), Carpenter, Ichiro, Abreu, Sheffield |

He's very young, hit over 40 HR's last year, is in a hitter-friendly ballpark and a stacked lineup. |

Derek Lee and Michael Young should be in the top 10 over Soriano and Crawford, but Crawford is probably 11th. |

2. A-Rod 3. Vlad 4. Santana 5. Lee 6. Crawford 7. David Wright 8. Teixeira 9. Abreu 10. Jason Bay Soriano and Cabrera would have been on my list at the beginning of the offseason, but both have been hit by negative environmental changes. |

Lee had a great season, but I dont think it would be a stretch to say that someone with 80% of his production will be around in rounds 5/6/7.
I dont think I could take him in the 1st round. |

I will play in a keeper league, as long as its free. I have never played in a keeper league so I have no idea what that entails.

It's fun trying to project players numbers not based on their skill, but based on their teammates, ballpark factors, etc. |

I definately would not take Tejada in the first round. I like Young over Tejada anways as he was ranked higher after last year. I think Tejada could be in the post steroid number drop off. Not to mention the Orioles are a terrible team. I predict them to look up at the Devil Rays by seasons end.
I also think that Soriano's value drops with the trade to the Nationals. He moves from a favorable stadium to an unfavorable one. My current Top 10: 1. A Rod 2. Pujols 3. Vlad 4. Johan Santana 5. Teixera 6. David Wright 7. Bobby Abreu 8. Crawford 9. Lee 10. Ortiz. Next 20 would consist of Young, Soriano, Cabrera, Manny, Tejada, Jason Bay, Pedro, Carpenter, Oswalt, Peavy, Felix Hernandez, Halladay. I try to get atleast one stud pitcher in my first 3 rounds with 4 of 5 top picks going to hitters. |
