Bubble Play Tips

This post is piggybacking on a recent poll about the most important influence on ROI in SNG's. More than a few people mentioned the importance of bubble play, so what are the most important ideas for playing on the bubble? What does a good bubble player do that poor bubble players don't do?
My sense is lots of pushing (the almighty fold equity) and calling only with somewhat big hands (unless pot odds dictate a call) are two big factors, but I'm interested in what anyone has to say from their experience.

Re: Bubble Play Tips

even if pot odds dictate a call, u still will likely fold (gambler's ruin)

the single most important idea for bubble play is ICM

read posts on it, buy sngpt(sng-analyzer) from eastbay and look at your hhs to see what hands/scenarios were +/- ev

the 5 most important considerations on the bubble:

a) blinds
b) stack sizes
c) positioning
d) your opps (calling ranges, pushing ranges, is anybody already limping/raising before your turn this hand?)
e) your cards

your cards don't always matter if a-d fit certain models
your opps don't always matter if a-c fit certain models
your positioning doesn't always matter if a-b fit certain models
your stack sizes don't always matter if a) fits certain models

Re: Bubble Play Tips

My view of correct bubble play is I get to steal enough chips from you that I can race you as either 60-40 favorite or 40-60 dog without me going broke if I lose. This is true at 10+1, doubt it is true at the higher levels.
