Port Scans

My firewall blocked a 'port scan attack' every 4 minutes while I was playing on PokerPlex. I shut down Plex and the attacks end. Is this the site attempting to access something benign on my puter? The TCP ports were 5001 - 5004 FWIW scanned from a listed IP address.

Probably.

if you use the command netstat from the dos command console you can see which applications are using which ports. Usually port scans run over a rather larger range of ports that that.

Probably not. Your firewall is probably being overzealous in it's detection of port scans. Since it sounds like PokerPlex is using "odd" ports (5001-5004) that may be falsely detected as a port scan.

At any rate, a port scan by itself is harmless. If you open a command window and run the command "netstan -an", you'll be able to see which ports are listening. If when you run PokerPlex, ports 5001-5004 are listening, you may want to email PokerPlex support and ask them why.

The cryptos last update included a change in their application upgrade process... UA.exe is now triggering firewall issues.

I believe that should be "netstat -an"
