Painful sport defeats

Today my soccer team lost the chilean league final on penalty shoot-outs after overcoming a two goal deficit.( thats 6 runs on baseball)
I was wondering what kinda tough beats have ppl suffered in the past.
Anyway here is my top( or bottom) 3
1) Leverkusen 4 Liverpool 2( 4-3 agg.), 2002 champions league quarter finals.
2) Baltimore 24 Tennesse 10 ,divisional playoffs 2001( i remember loving football back then, it was a really tough defeat)
3) Austria 1 Chile 1, it was on the group stage of the 1998 WC.

So Im sure u have better material than mine, that way after seeing all those tough defeats I will recover from mine

If Oakland doesn't adopt small ball in the playoffs they will never win a game 5.

Having never been part of the whole Red Sox-Yankees rivalry thing, is it worse to lose in the ALCS to the other than it is to lose in the World Series? (Say, 2004 ALCS Game 7 vs. 2001 WS Game 7)
