Dumb question - Clarification of stats...

28/20 or 35/25?
eg, "28/20 is LAG to me"

I have poker tracker and understand the abbreviations for those quoted, but could someone tell me what these ratios are referring to?

VP$IP/PFR%????
Thanks,
Greg

Another way to find good tables is to look at the ones that are only three or four handed.

You can pick the seat you want relative to the stack sizes, and you'll often be automatically up against a few fishies looking for action.

I used to sit in immediate position to the biggest stack at the table with the thought
[guruman thinking]if this guy's the best player at this table I want position on him as opposed to vice versa. If he's bad (or a lag), he'll stay a while with a stack that size, and I can raise to isolate.[/guruman thinking]

What I found though, was that the big stacks tended to be ok to good players, and my position would be bad because they would get to isolate the bad players from me. We also didn't tangle much because we didn't play 70% of our hands.

Wookie suggested finding a string of small stacks and sitting in position to them. The smallish stacks more often represent players who are either above the limits of thier roll or are playing recreationally. They could also be people running bad. If a tag or a rock sat to our left, all the better - as we could start stealing blinds and buttons with greater ease.

I've been trying this lately, and with great success.

Relative position matters, and very short handed tables are often filled with action donkeys ready to party.
