Like everyone has said, you played it well.

Don't be results oriented about it. This guy is the type to move you off of hands, and I can see him pulling that line with A7 and other hands that you beat. It is really hard to give a player like this much credit for having a hand

A c/r on the turn after you 3bet the flop is a huuuuge sign of true strength. With the read that you have tho, I play it exactly the same.

I would play this hand exactly the same. Had SB only called my 3-bet I may attack again on the river - but a cap on the turn (even from a maniac) usually spells 2-pr or better.

As an aside, Bob, I wish you luck on coming out of the downswing. You've been a source of learning for me since I joined here in January when I started scouring the Micro forums. I've always found your posts very encouraging and well thought out. Something that has helped me during downswings is to review hands like crazy and get myself in the mindset of making sound decisions around the clock. Just get in there, RELAX, and try to make the optimum decision every time. For me, this meant playing less tables for a while. Also, having someone review a session of your is always a good idea. I know it's helped me a lot in the past. Good luck!

I really think you can't play this any differently. How many hands was this statistic over?

True

had been sitting with him for 100 hands or so and had iso 3-bet his PFR's quite a few times of course...and had pushed him out of the turn before as well.

I think this was a case where my 'stats' read got in the way of my what my 'real' read was saying to do.

I know it might seem results oriented.
But afer I 3-bet him on the turn I thought, "what the hell am I doing here with only an over-pair??"
of course, his cap back at me was almost immediate so it is obviously kinda likely that THIS was what caused the thought that 3-betting him wasn't such a hot idea.
