Re: $25 NL Cash

if youre going to make a continuation bet, make it more along the lines of 3/4 pot to a pot sized bet.

and those bets by the villain on the turn and river are weak as hell - raise the turn and see where things are at.

Re: $25 NL Cash

preflop is good. flop, I make a stronger continunation bet, between 2/3 pot and pot sized.

turn is fine, river i'm certainly not folding with 20:1.

dont post results.

Re: $25 NL Cash

Don't be afraid to fire a second time just because UTG leads the turn with a weak blocking bet. It is my experience that bets of this type are very rarely representative of a strong hand.

Villian was essentially telling you he was drawing, unless he is a complete nit slow playing a set or two pair, in which case, I'm not leaving the table until he does.

Also, If he happens to be on a weak K you may be able to push him off it with a second shell...check-behind the river if he smooth calls your reraise on the turn.

That donkey bet 50 cent on the river with the nuts into an 11$ pot? God that is priceless.

I'd raise the turn.

to everyone that said hero should pot the flop:

There are no real draws out there besides QJ, I wouldn't bet more with AK, why should I do it with AQ?

I don't like this. If you are giong to raise make it $3-4 PF. Then the continuation bet will be larger forcing many hands out.

Re: $25 NL Cash

Ok about the continuation bet here.... I dont think that is a great board to do it on. There are 2 high cards on the board. I like to continue bet on flops like 2-6-Q There is only 1 high card on that board and there is a lack of gutshots and stuff people can call with.

One thing about continuation bets that I firmly believe is that the amount matters a lot less than people think. If villian has nothing he is not gonna call. If he has something he is.

I'm going to disagree. Continuation bets are more effective when you have the pot heads up and the c-bet on the flop is large. You'll force out some marginal hands and some better hands (sometimes).
