$11 PR Bubble Qxs reraised

Button: ($5,875 in chips)
Hero (SB): ($5,720 in chips)
BB: ($2,110 in chips)
UTG: ($1,295 in chips)

BB = 400

Hero dealt [4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]]

PRE-FLOP
2 folds, Hero bets $700, BB bets $1,710 and is all-in

pot = 3010

Hero?

Mostly a steal, but Q didn't seem so bad, but was this a mistake if I can't stand the re-raise? Should I have planned to call if I planned to raise? Are pot odds such that I should call anyway? Or just fold this from the start and avoid this stupid question? I really hate giving the BB free chips, but maybe raising with a weak hand is just giving him more free chips. Just push this so his decision is tougher, with greater FE?

Really appreciate thoughts on this. Probably a simple hand but it made me think a couple of times and I need help.

Against a stack this short in the BB (<10BB), either push or fold preflop to avoid this situation. I'd push.

Getting 3-1 after his reraise, I think you should call.

You are getting 3-1, I'd call but I wouldn't be happy about it.

Believe it or not, I think this is a great spot for you to raise. Given that the blinds are large taking down the blinds is a nice addition to your stack. Another note is that UTG is about to be in the BB, since BB==400 he's putting in a large portion of his stack. Therefore, if you raise here then the BB is really making a mistake here by calling with anything but premium hands.

Since the BB has only 5x BB, I'd push here rather than weak raising, then calling. That is the kind of play I might make if I had a premium hand.

Just fold preflop. Or push if you want, either are better than this namby pamby raise.

Actually you're in the SB I see. Easy push. He has way less than 10bb and it's effective stack (again) that matters. Does nobody ever realise this?

Like you said, push preflop to maximise FE.

You should have pushed. You certainly have to call getting 3-1 unless you have magical powers that allow you to put him specifically on QQ-AA...

Hero (SB): ($5,720 in chips)
BB: ($2,110 in chips)

You're playing against only the BB here and since you can only play with 2,110 chips (the amount of his stack) your stack of t5,720 is 'effectively' only t2,100.
