I feel uncomfortable carrying $12K in cash around.

i tie some string around the wad of cash and drag it about 8 feet behind me on the ground.
if its night time i will also have a flashlight that i will shine on the cash as i walk.

Do you remember when you felt uncomfortable carringing 1K around? How do you feel about it now?

Having said all that I bought a money belt somewhere around the 5K mark and it made me feel better for a time, so there's no harm using one if it makes you feel better. It just became a pain to go to the head just to get at your stash.

Why not just leave some in your hotel's safe? You'll probably need a cool-out break around the 6k mark anyway.

If you are talking about the safe at the hotel desk, or a safety deposit box at the cage, Good Idea.

Usually the front desk one, but what's wrong with the safe in the room? Are you one of those who thinks the maids are in there trying every code in the universe or what?
