25/50 hand against a live one

villain bought in for 2500, went all in with 89s preflop and doubled up to what he has now. He has been making large and random raises preflop pretty regularly.

We played one pot where he called me on a AJ3r flop and could not beat a jack. Basically he has shown some fairly poor play, and is the reason I am sitting in the game.

We both have 5k to start the hand. We are 3 handed.

Button folds, he makes it 500 to go, i call with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
.
flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

He bets 500, I call.

Turn is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

He bets 500, I make it 1500, he calls.

River 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

He checks, I go all-in.

Is this a bluff or a value bet?

Is this a bluff or a value bet and why not just call the turn to save money if he's got you outkicked or has a ten? If you did think you were good on the turn, then push since he's that bad and really make him pay if he wants to chase with a draw.

cmon, look at the description, its obv a value bet.

that said, im not sure if i would have the balls to make this move... of course this move is based purely on your read so only you should be able to tell if its right or wrong.

your play doesn't really make sense. you have a good hand so shouldn't you value bet? are you trying to represent a bluff and hoping villain makes a heroic call w/ some sort of pocket pair or something?

I just can't see him calling with a worse hand.

After he called your re-raise on the turn, I can't understand moving all in on the river.

I know you believe he's a donk, but why risk so much if his check is a trap inducing you to do what you did?

it is good that he is so awful he may call with any A, and may be donkey enough to call with KK/QQ if he is retarded when any A/T/hearts beat him.

what sucks is that he may actually have AK/AQ and got froze up that you possibly had a T on the turn and decided to check-call any river.

i think i am just happy to showdown here with my hand and with the money in the pot. you are banking on him having A9 on down and paying you off, whichisn't worth it in the event he has a bigger A.

he may have just had a gutshot broadway with KQ/KJ/QJ and is folding.

if there were a wider range of calling hands for him that we beat, then i would like the river push. but i think i play it weak and take the showdown. if he is a monkey then you will get the chips shortly.

an aside: flawless, creed, and prev... how come none of you ever added an avatar?
